To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have paanagam using 5 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Paanagam:
- Get 1 small ball Imli- a small gooseberry sized, soaked in 1/2 cup of warm water for 15 mins
- Get 1 Jaggery- a large lemon sized
- Get 1 tsp Dry Ginger Powder\ Saunth Powder-
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Elaichi Powder-
- Get pinch Edible Camphor – a small pinch

Paanagam or Paanakam is quick and easy in preparation and tastes best when served chilled. Easy to make and tasty too. Steps to make Paanagam:
- Add 2 cups of water to the soaked imli and extract imli water. Boil it for a minute or two along with jaggery.
- Remove from flame and add powdered dry ginger, elaichi and edible camphor. Adjust water as per the taste.
- Serve hot or chilled.
- P.S- Instead of imli, we can use lemon juice also. But, I have sticked to the authentic method of preparing paanagam in my family.
