- Take Puff pastry
- Take Nutella or hazel nut spead
- Prepare Granulated sugar or powdered
- Get Caramel sauce
- Take 1 cup Blackened walnuts
- Get 1 Egg
Each of these buttery, flaky packets bears a delicoius surprise: a layer of Nutella, which turns wonderfully melted during baking. So…we made these Nutella Puff Pastry Swirls last weekend. I fell head over heels in love. For starters, puff pastry is so buttery flaky awesome.
Instructions to make Nutella puffs:
- Prep your egg wash / walnuts / thaw pastry if not using homemade pastry
- Cut the pastry into neat 2 1/2 inch squares
- Put a tablespoon of Nutella in the middle of the pastry
- Add walnuts to ur liking
- Egg wash all sides of the pastry
- From one corner to the caddy corner pinch pastry together to keep filling inside
- Add egg wash to top of pastry and put sugar on top (if using powdered sugar wait till end)
- Preheat oven to 350 and put in for 20-30 mins till golden brown
- Pull out and add Carmel sauce to the top and enjoy as is!! (If using powdered sugar, melt butter and brush on top after taken out of oven and sprinkle it on) u can even add ice cream on top!!
OMG, THE best nutella cream puffs I've tasted. My whole family loved it, in fact I had to give some away because it was that good. TIP: Make sure to freeze the cream puffs overnight and you will find it. There is no lack of Nutella-inspired recipes on the interweb. We wanted to play with choux pastry that day and that would either lead to eclairs or cream puffs.
