  10. Take 300-350 grams sugar
  11. Make ready 1/4 lemon

Instructions to make Şekerpare:
  1. Set oven for 370°F/190°C. Make syrup , let it cool. Then make dough.Place the softened margarine in a large mixing bowl, add the flour. Work the flour into the margarine with your fingers until combined. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, baking powder and semolina, eggs and continue working them in with your fingers until you have dough with a smooth consistency.
  2. Dough must not be sticky, not too hard like a rock.
  3. Shape them, place in a baking tray with covered parchment paper. Brush their surface with egg yolk, place your hazelnuts in the middle of the dough (I forgot, I had to take them out of oven, since I didn't have hazelnuts I placed almond slices into dough)
  4. Put it into oven, cook about 25-30 mins. Until they are golden brown
  5. Add syrup, while cookies are still hot, pour over them. They will soak in one hour. Cover them with another tray, so they don't get dry
  6. Done!
  7. First make syrup, so can get cold enough until you finish with cookies. To do that: add 4 cups of boiling water to a saucepan. Add the 3 cups granulated sugar and the 1/4 lemon. Bring to a boil then gently simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let it cool.
  8. Enjoy with Turkish tea!
